Peter
Lukehart
Peter Lukehart is associate dean of the National Gallery
of Art ‘s
Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts. Formerly, Lukehart served
as director of Dickinson College’s Trout Gallery, He has authored
a number of publications including a forthcoming article on Virtual Knowledge
and Early Modern Visual Culture. Mr. Lukehart co-edited and organized,
Writing on Hands: Memory and Knowledge in Early Modern Europe, exhibition
catalogue (Carlisle: The Trout Gallery, 2000). The exhibition, catalogue,
and Website received numerous honors, including The Dibner Award for
Excellence in Museum Exhibits, The Pennsylvania Federation of Museums
and Historical Organization’s Award of Excellence, and the Katherine
Kyes and Daniel J. Leab Exhibition Award. Mr. Lukehart has held such
prestigious fellowships as a Fulbright Senior Research Fellowship (Italy)
in 1998-1999 and a Departmental Writing Fellowship and Villa Spelman
Fellowship (Italy) from The Johns Hopkins University.
